Pushing Changes Live

When you edit your website in the portal, changes are saved as a draft first. Your live site doesn't change until you deploy.

The Two-Step Process

Step 1: Save

As you make edits in the portal editor, click Save (or let auto-save handle it). Your changes are stored as a draft. You can save as many times as you want without anything changing on your live site.

Step 2: Deploy

When you're ready for visitors to see the changes, click Deploy. This pushes your draft to your live site.

The deploy process takes about 30–60 seconds. You'll see a status indicator while it's running. Once complete, your changes are live.

Why Two Steps?

The draft/deploy separation lets you make multiple edits — updating your headline, adding testimonials, uploading photos — without visitors seeing half-finished changes. Make everything look right in draft, then deploy once when it's ready.

What Gets Updated on Deploy

When you deploy, everything you've edited gets pushed live:

  • Text changes (headline, about section, services, etc.)
  • Photos you've uploaded
  • Contact info and business hours
  • Testimonials and portfolio updates

If Your Deploy Fails

If the deploy button shows an error, try again after a minute or two. If it continues to fail, reach out to support@tradesite.ai.
